About the Role
Serves as the primary Pharmacist for Johnson Space Center (JSC) Flight Medicine Clinic, develops and implements pharmacy policies, procedures, and medication-management processes supporting clinical care and human spaceflight. Oversees medication selection and packing for medical kits and remote facilities, ensures safety and mission readiness, serves as a pharmacy subject matter expert, and leads pharmacists supporting astronauts, NASA personnel, and international partners.
What You'll Do
- →Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation for the JSC Pharmacy; verify accuracy and currency annually and provide a roster of current policies and procedures according to Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee policy.
- →Coordinate medication management performance improvement projects as decided upon by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
- →Oversee Medication Utilization Evaluations as directed by Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee or Occupational Health Surveillance Group and report results.
- →Provide pharmaceutical expertise to support development activities, technological demonstrations, and transition to operations to further medical capabilities.
- →Provide pharmaceutical consultation support as needed.
- →Collaborate with NASA Medical Operations, Health Maintenance System teams, Flight Surgeons, and engineering stakeholders to support crew health.
- →Oversee clinical pharmacy services within the Flight Medicine Clinic, ensuring safe and effective medication management.
Requirements
- ✓Basic Requirement: You must have a doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. ** Note: Employees currently assigned to positions in this occupational series as of September 2017 will be considered to have met the basic requirements for the position occupied.
- ✓U.S. degrees must have been awarded from colleges or universities that are accredited by recognized accrediting organizations.

- ✓If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs.
