Positions are available across Langley Research Center, Johnson Space Center, and White Sands Test Facility supporting equipment, property, supply, and logistics management needs. NASA may fill GS-1640 (Facility Operations Services) and GS-1670 (Equipment Services) positions at the GS-11 through GS-14 levels. Responsibilities will vary by position, grade level, and organizational need.
What You'll Do
- →Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised.
- →Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
- →Plan, coordinate, and oversee operations, maintenance and repairs of facilities and mission equipment, establishing preventive/corrective maintenance schedules, performance measures, and compliance controls.
- →Execute operations, maintenance and repairs of facility and mission equipment in accordance with policies and procedures.
- →Develop technical requirements and documentation (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance plans, inspection checklists, lifecycle records), maintain configuration control, and ensure traceability for facilities/equipment changes.
- →Conduct inspections, assessments, and audits of in house and contractor work for safety, quality, and compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications; track corrective actions to closure.
- →Analyze operational data and trends (downtime, reliability, cost, spare parts, risk), recommend improvements, and brief leadership on status, issues, and mitigation strategies.
- →Advise stakeholders and leadership on facility/equipment capabilities, limitations, maintenance strategies, and risk trade offs; translate technical findings into actionable recommendations.
- →Coordinate cross functional projects (engineering, safety, environmental, procurement, finance) to deliver facility upgrades or equipment modifications on time and within budget.
- →Manage contractor actions and agreements, review scopes, submittals, and change orders; verify technical adequacy and ensure conformance with contract and regulatory requirements.
- →Establish logistics and sustainment practices, forecast spares, manage inventories, and optimize maintenance resources to maximize availability and reliability of facilities/equipment.
Requirements
