This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as liaison between program and accrediting organizations, community agencies, Veterans groups, government organizations, and other VA clinics and groups.
- →Reports all adverse events and significant incidents and program changes to supervisors, VA leadership, and accrediting organizations as required Serves as the first point of contact for Veterans who wish to convey complaints, concerns or requests regarding any aspect of the overall program.
- →Accordingly, liaisons with the VA patient advocates, Mental Health Executive Team and/or Chief of Mental Health as needed Facilitates interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, patient reviews, and DOM SUD community meetings Oversees and monitors Veterans' adherence with program and medical center rules, regulations and policies.
- →Tracks, monitors, and reports on Veterans' participation in therapeutic activities Conducts and reports on unit environmental and safety inspections.
- →Initiates and tracks work orders, maintenance requests, and requests for purchases to improve physical environment in order to maximize a homelike and therapeutic environment for Veterans.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓English Language Proficiency.
- ✓In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
