This is a non-supervisory Prosthetic Representative position in the Prosthetic & Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) in the West Palm Beach VA Healthcare System in VISN 8. This system includes a medical center, outpatient clinic in Port St Lucie and multiple Community Based Outpatient Clinic locations in the System's catchment area.
What You'll Do
- →Listed below are the tasks for the Non-Supervisory Prosthetic Representative, GS-11.
- →Primary Duties include but are not limited to: Develop local organizational policies and procedures consistent with national policies and procedures.
- →Develop Statement of Work for service contracts; monitor contracts for compliance to Statement of Work.
- →Manage applications and prescription requests for prosthetic devices, appliances and services.
- →Identify and select national CMS/Health Care Procedural Coding System (HCPCs) codes are entered for every item purchased through and/or billed to ensure proper reporting.
- →Respond to a variety of correspondence i.e., contractors, Home Oxygen program issues, congressional inquires.
- →Participate in local facility committees, work groups, teams; assess and provides technical guidance concerning equipment and benefits to beneficiaries and other healthcare workers.
- →Develop tools that allow monitoring of a quality assurance program.
- →Perform data validation by reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating the results of various monitors and databases.
- →Confer with contractors and other healthcare workers.
- →Inform Veterans and family members on different appliances and services available.
- →Determine eligibility of Veterans for items and services.
- →Plans, develops and prepares budget estimates.
- →Develop cost containment measures Manage Prosthetic Rep benefit programs which include but are not limited to: Clothing Allowance (CA), Home Oxygen (Home 02), Auto Adaptive Equipment (ME), and Home Improvement & Structural Alterations (HISA) Reviews medical files of Veterans.

- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
