The incumbent is a member of Prosthetics and Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) located at the James A. Lovell FHCC, North Chicago, IL. The incumbent is the first employee within the PSAS that the public encounters and must have a thorough knowledge of all of the regulations regarding eligibility/entitlement for home medical equipment and prosthetic devices, as well as programs such as Automobile Adaptive Equipment, Home Oxygen, Clothing Allowance, and Home Improvement and Structural Alteration.
What You'll Do
- →Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Schedule appointments in the Electronic Health Record.
- →Locate prosthetic item prescriptions.
- →Determine Veteran eligibility and entitlement for prosthetic items.
- →Determine when patient education is required and refer as appropriate.
- →Post notes to prosthetic orders with status updates/ close orders as appropriate.
- →Assist visitors/ callers with forms/ documents/ miscellaneous inquires for prosthetic items, referring to appropriate staff member as necessary.
- →Process incoming mail, timekeeping, and other administrative duties as necessary.
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 0730-1600 Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
