The position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in Fayetteville, NC and is a part of the Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6). The PSA provides support in the ongoing development of the Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) Programs and Social Work Division.
What You'll Do
- →This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6) at the Fayetteville Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Fayetteville, NC.
- →The Program Support Assistant-OA (PSA) will serve as a Point of Contact on behalf of the Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) program and will resolve most issues independently under the direction of the Homeless Program Supervisor and Health Care for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) Program Manager.
- →The primary duties of the Program Support Assistant (PSA) are to provide administrative and technical support within the HCHV program, assist management in program improvement efforts, and participate in VA community outreach events.
- →Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Serves as a point of contact on behalf of the HCHV program under the direction of the Homeless Program Supervisor and HCHV Program Manager.
- →Receives telephone calls and correspondence which are screened and referred to the appropriate staff member when needed.
- →Schedules appointments and conferences for the HCHV Program Manager and Program Supervisors.
- →Verifies Veteran eligibility for services.
- →Schedules appointments and monitors clinic activity to ensure completion of encounters.
- →Types, edits, and maintains current copies of HCHV forms relating to program documents, letters, memos, policies, reports, program brochures, and other types of written communication.
- →The incumbent will develop brochures, educational materials, excel spreadsheets, tables, and draft correspondence necessary for the HCHV Program.
- →Transcribes HCHV Program administrative meeting minutes from recordings in addition to quarterly minutes for meetings with the Fayetteville HCHV Program VA Advisory Board and Community providers as needed.
- →Establishes and maintains records and files according to written guidelines.
- →The incumbent will assist management in special projects and studies related to clinical operational efficiency and process improvement.
- →The PSA performs work related to the acquisition and development of program operations and resource materials to support the policy development and technical activities of the HCHV program.
