About the Role

The Program Specialist is located within the Spinal Cord/Injury service at Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center, Memphis, TN and is responsible for providing support to the Chief of Service and Section Chiefs within the service, which includes analytical support and management services essential to the direction of the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Major duties include, but not limited to: Research and/or analyzes stable issues which may be simple or complex in nature.
  • Reviews procurement documents for accuracy, adequacy, and completeness, and assists service line managers as needed to ensure the final documents are acceptable.
  • Independently drafts documents (memos, policies, spreadsheets) for the Service Chief as needed with limited input from the AO and/or Chief of Service.
  • Processing Application Coordinator (ADPAC) and PIV Manager/Sponsor for the Service.
  • Independently develops performance work statements and objectives, cost benefit analysis, gap analysis, sole source justifications, past performance, quality assurance surveillance plans (QASP), market research, independent government estimate, evaluation criteria, options, funding, delivery schedules, lead times, and reporting requirements.
  • Serves as a customer service liaison for the service providing service recovery to Veterans, their family members, and employees as the situations arise.
  • Serves as alternate as timekeeper, Records Management Liaison, Automated Data.
  • Establishes and maintains/monitors SCI/D Registry under appropriate rules, regulations, and guidelines with the SCI/D National Program Office.
  • Other duties as assigned.
