About the Role

The primary purpose of the position is to serve as the Program Specialist at Veterans Health Care System (VHSO) of the Ozarks, Fayetteville, AR. The Program Specialist is responsible for the coordination and oversight of the Employee Engagement and Experience Program. This position is created under the Director's Office and is a direct report to the Executive Director.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for creating policies, theories and strategies and putting them in to action to grow and strengthen Employee Engagement.
  • Reviews employee satisfaction data; organizational performance planning as it relates to employee experience; and collaborates with services to develop organizational performance, planning and development of long-term strategic initiatives geared toward improvement.
  • Functions as the facility's Program Specialist for Employee Engagement and Employee Experience.
  • Researches ways to improve and enhance Employee Engagement and the Employee Experience and spreads/provides staff training on the key components for implementation.
  • Performs tasks relating to budget execution by compiling resource data from various financial management reports.
  • Conduct studies on new models of Employee Engagement growth to determine the benefit of this growth to the Employee Experience.
  • Provides active leadership on interdisciplinary committees, task forces, and other groups which have the objective of improving organizational performance and/or strategic planning.
  • Serves as the AES coordinator for VHSO, controls, coordinates, analyzes, validates, and participates in the preparation of the AES and numerous other statistical and narrative reports.
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, subject to change based on the needs of the facility.
  • Telework: This position may be authorized for telework.

  • Physical Demands The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.
  • Incumbent will be required to have a valid driver's license to visit the multiple sites of the facility to assess program effectiveness and milestone completion of implementation plans.
