About the Role

This position is in the Home-Based Primary Care (HBPC) Program within the Primary Care Service Line at the Cincinnati, OH Department of Veterans Affairs, caring for Veterans admitted to the HBPC Program in southwestern Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. The incumbent acts as the HBPC Supervisory Program Specialist for the HBPC Program and is the direct supervisor of the HBPC Lead MSA and the HBPC Advanced Medical Support Assistants (AMSA).

What You'll Do

  • The Cincinnati VA Medical Center (CVAMC) is a two-division campus located in Cincinnati, OH and Fort Thomas, KY serving 15 counties in Southwest OH, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana with 6 Community Based Outpatient Clinics located in Bellevue, KY; Florence, KY; Lawrenceburg, IN; Hamilton, OH; Clermont County, OH, and Georgetown, OH.
  • The CVAMC also supports two off main campus locations in the Cincinnati area via an Eye Center and Mental Health Outreach Community Division.
  • Major Duties: This position reports directly to the HBPC Program Director and the assigned designee during their absence.
  • The incumbent is responsible for overall program management of Veterans' scheduling processes.
  • He/She provides direct administrative oversight to the (1) GS-0679-07 HBPC Lead Medical Support Assistant and the (6) GS-0679-06 HBPC Advanced Medical Support Assistants, which ensures compliance with the National Scheduling directive and that its contents are followed according to the directive and all other assigned roles and responsibilities.
  • The incumbent has a major responsibility in the process for meeting access measures in HBPC.
  • He/She is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations/scheduling for the HBPC Program across all seven locations.
  • These areas also support the entire HBPC interdisciplinary team/services.
  • The HBPC Supervisory Program Specialist will ensure that all scheduling staff are compliant with mandatory training for the outpatient scheduling process.
  • The incumbent identifies areas requiring attention and recommends and coordinates courses of action with HBPC Leadership.
  • He/She will collaborate with HBPC Leadership and the HBPC quality nurse in the formula??on and interpretation of reports.
  • He/She will work closely with HBPC leadership, Clinic Profile Manager, PCMM Coordinator, and the Primary Care Data Analyst to collate and disseminate performance measures.
  • He/She is responsible for compiling and reporting various performance measurement reports and ensuring that all tasks and reports meet required deadlines.
  • Tracks and reviews data, generating reports that assess the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of HBPC administrative staff at each site to support program improvement.
