About the Role

The Program Specialist is a non-management position located in the Health Administration Service (HAS) service line. It is directly aligned under the Associate Medical Administrative Officer (Deputy Chief, HAS) whose responsibility will be to represent HAS on all administrative matters associated with Controlled Correspondence, Human Resources, Equipment Inventory, and Contracting matters.

What You'll Do

  • Major duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for investigating facts and matters related to inquiries by patients, Congressional, Senatorial, and other official offices, making determinations and recommendations for resolution of issues and complaints.
  • Monitors and tracks the controlled correspondence received.
  • Ensures that assignments are submitted timely based on suspense date.
  • Assists with the administration of the space and equipment programs.
  • Assists on administrative and workload projections within the various Health Administration Service programs.
  • Prepares and/or assists in the initiation or revision of administrative policies in the professional services.
  • Assists with employee awards, training, and performing necessary related human resources management issues.
  • Provides ongoing training and assistance to new and incumbent personnel regarding office policies and procedures.
  • Assures all personnel have been instructed in and follow operational and safety requirements.
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.
  • Work Schedule is subject to change based on agency need.
  • Telework: This position may be authorized for telework.
  • Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
