About the Role

The Cincinnati OH VA Medical Center is seeking a well-qualified candidate for the position of Program Specialist. This position has responsibility for supporting multiple Engineering programs, including Space Utilization Program, Water Safety Management Program, Space Key Control Program, Joint Commission Compliance Program, and Personnel Management Program.

What You'll Do

  • Duties include, but are not limited to: Management Collaboration - The incumbent has a major responsibility supporting six different programs within Engineering Service Research and Analysis Work -The incumbent is required to research and/or analyze problems, issues, or program requirements as they relate to the Office of Engineering.
  • Incumbent must have working knowledge of the Joint Commission Standards, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and VHA's Center Engineering Occupational Safety and Health (CEOSH) guidebooks.
  • Performance Review Program -Incumbent provides comprehensive technical program support four different programs within Engineering.
  • Other Major Duties and Responsibilities include - Incumbent will work independently with other agencies to establish agendas, and to schedule survey/inspection dates based on Engineering staff availability.
  • Incumbent will collect and organize any information or documents requested by the inspection or survey team.
  • Management of Database tracking all required Joint Commission Inspection Documentation.
  • Designated Contracting Office Representative (COR).
  • Incumbent is also responsible for maintaining a list of Engineering Suspense dates and for working closely with Engineering subject matter experts to ensure that the required information is provided for both updating existing policies in a timely manner, and responding to all Suspense's by the due date assigned.
  • Serves as Talent Management System (TMS) coordinator and independently manages TMS training for Engineering staff.
  • Incumbent assigns all extra required classes to their TMS learning plan and enters all training hours for any additional training attended into the TMS system for these groups.
  • Processes all training, travel, and deployment requests, researches travel options, and makes travel arrangements for Engineering Staff.
  • This position maintains the time cards and attendance records for two T&Ls in Engineering Service.
  • Responsible for tracking and updating all position descriptions.
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Telework: Not Authorized for telework.
