About the Role

As a Program Specialist you will: Support Vocational Readiness and Employment staff assigned to supervise and assist participants of Chapter 31 and Chapter 36, Title 38, U.S. Code. Assistance is required in all phases of the vocational rehabilitation program. You are assigned a variety of administrative and technical support duties in the Veteran Readiness and Employment Division. This position primary purpose to support the Division's front desk office.

What You'll Do

  • Program Specialist supports Vocational Readiness and Employment staff assigned to supervise and assist participants of Chapter 31 and Chapter 36, Title 38, U.S.
  • Assistance is required in all phases of the vocational rehabilitation program.
  • Primarily responsible for the preparation of the awards required to pay the Veterans subsistence while participating in the program.
  • Responsible for resolution of issues regarding VR&E eligibility and entitlement.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of a centralized purchase card for Newark VRCs.
  • Responsible for coordination of new applicants to the VR&E programs, and facilitation of group orientation sessions.
  • Responsible for inquiries and assistance with financial oversight of the successful administration of the VR&E program for participants.
  • Responsible for the role of the timekeeper for the VR&E.
  • Support the Division's front desk office.
  • Work Schedule: Regular office hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
  • Alternate work schedules may be available.

Requirements

  • Provide only the attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S.
  • Department of Education.
