About the Role

This position is in the Rehabilitation and Extended Care Line, specifically assigned to the Geriatrics and Extended Care Section. The program specialist is responsible for technical, administrative duties in support of the unit. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing, directing, controlling and evaluating administrative process with the Geriatrics and Extended Care Section.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborates with the Geriatrics and Extended Care Director, Extended Care Nurse Executive, and other Geriatrics and Extended Care staff in establishing and coordinating, collaboratively or independently, researching and writing correspondence, memoranda, reports, and other documents, ensuring timely flow of data and adherence to appropriate formats and deadlines.
  • Independently maintains and disseminates Geriatric and Extended Care administrative management policies and procedures, providing input into day to day operations, e.g., preparation and submission of correspondence and reports.
  • Maintains and disseminates policy statements, regulations and other reference materials needed.
  • Performs wide variety of record-keeping duties, updating manuals on policy and directives, maintaining files, and coordinating meetings, conferences and training classes, using Microsoft Outlook and other software.
  • Assists the Supervisory Program Analyst in administering an effective and efficient administrative and support function for the Geriatric and Extended Care Section.
