About the Role

This position is in the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), Louisville Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Office (RO), Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) division; and serves as a Program Support Specialist responsible for administrative and technical work.

What You'll Do

  • Specific duties include: Program Specialist supports Veteran Readiness & Employment staff assigned to supervise and assist participants of Chapter 31 and Chapter 36.
  • Title 38, U.S.
  • Assistance is required in all phases of the Veteran Readiness program.
  • Primarily responsible for the preparation of the awards required to pay the Veterans subsistence while participating in the program.
  • Responsible for resolution of issues regarding VR&E eligibilty and entitlement.
  • Responsible for coordination of new applicants to the VR&E programs, and facilitation of group orientation sessions.
  • Responsible for inquiries and assistance with financial oversight of the successful administration of the VR&E program for participants.
  • Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Requirements
