This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of Marine and Aviation Operations (OMAO), Uncrewed Systems Operations Center, with one vacancy in Gulfport, MS.
What You'll Do
- →As a Program Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Provide a structured, project management approach to funded Uncrewed Marine Systems (UMS) projects.
- →Provide program support, coordination, and analysis.
- →Establish program objectives and units of measure for determining when objectives have been met.
- →Develop plans, tasks, milestones and schedules to ensure tracking of processes and costs.
- →Review and analyze proposed costs, program development, and performance.
- →Perform program evaluation and reporting.
- →Review program/project to determine mission operations and the directions and schedules are accomplished in a timely manner.
- →Report on the status and progress of work accomplished and monitor work in progress.
- →Make recommendations for actions when adjustments or different course of action is necessary.
- →Draft guidance regarding program management and reporting.
- →Provide support to UMS operations and stakeholder engagement.
- →Provide support to transition UMS to operations and applications.
- →Provide stakeholders support with meeting National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and federal policies for UMS.
- →Physical Requirements: Work requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, ascend/descend ladders, access confined spaces and work in potentially harsh weather conditions on uneven surfaces (e.g. on ships and small boats at sea).
Requirements
- ✓This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS).
- ✓Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band.
- ✓The ZA-3 is equivalent to the GS-11/12.
- ✓Key Requirements: Applicants must be U.S.
- ✓Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation.
