About the Role

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.

What You'll Do

  • Provide one-on-one employment assistance and career coaching by advising clients on careers, volunteer and educational goals.
  • Assist clients with job development by assessing their values, interests. abilities, skills, and qualifications for current employment opportunities relative to their chosen career field.
  • Administer, review, and provide guidance on career/skills assessments.
  • Research and identify employment trends, labor market information, portable career opportunities for military spouses. supplemental training programs and resources, and career development opportunities.
  • Research and maintain current knowledge on DOD initiatives for transitioning service members and military spouse employment.
  • Assist clients in the preparation of both private and federal resumes.
  • Review completed resumes and federal application packages and provide client feedback.
  • Provide guidance regarding the marketability of resumes and employment packages with solutions on design and improvement.
  • Conduct mock interview practice sessions.
  • Assist active-duty service members with development of an Individual Transition Plan (ITP).
  • Direct clients to all available resource materials and library books.
  • Network with employers in an effort to obtain current job opportunities and refer clients.
  • Establish and maintain continuous relationships with corporate and private industry. federal agencies, small business agencies. local chambers of commerce, and state employment services in order to develop a database of employment resources for transitioning service members and military spouses.
  • Assist military spouses with navigating online resources and career tools.
