About the Role
This Program Manager GS-0343-14 position is located in the Member Services (MS) division with the Veterans Transportation Program (VTP). The incumbent fully shares duties under the Director in managing all phases of the VTP program as the Deputy Director (organization title) of the program and manages national program resources to encourage development of transportation services that assist Veterans in overcoming barriers to treatment with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties Include (but are not limited to): Sets performance standards, appraises direct reports, and reviews performance standards and appraisals of staff within span of control to assure equity and compliance with program objectives.
- →Approves or decides personnel actions for recruitment, reassignment, promotion, reclassification, and other actions for employees.
- →Hears and decides grievances and serious disciplinary measures.
- →Performs the administrative and human resources management functions relative to staff supervised; Advises and encourages local adoption of strong practices from the transportation service industry and from other facilities.
- →Analyzes and evaluates, on both a qualitative and quantitative basis, the utilization of transportation resources on the national and facility level.
- →Implements or supervises the implementation of data gathering and trending to evaluate travel programs using analytical and evaluative methods to select and apply appropriate program evaluation and measurement techniques in measuring and evaluating all aspects of the agency transformational initiative(s).
- →Establishes a methodology to track existing transportation coverage at the local, regional, and national levels to map potential available resources that could be used to ensure that all remote or immobile Veterans, irrespective off their geographic region, can have access to adequate transportation services.
- →Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- →Remote: This position is not authorized for Remote work.
- →Telework: This position may be authorized for Virtual Work.
- →Virtual Work eligibility is for current VA employees that are already subject to the return to in person work mandate in their current position.
- →Return to Office (RTO): RTO mandates are in effect and selectees will be required to report to in-person work unless they are approved for an exception or an exemption.
- →Any approval for an RTO exception or exemption will happen after a tentative job offer, but before a final job offer.
