About the Role

This position is assigned to the Quality, Safety, and Value (QSV) Quality and Performance (Q&P) directorate of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. The incumbent serves in a management position that is organizationally aligned under the QSV Q&P Director. The incumbent serves as the Program Manager over several departments and/or programs supporting the Office of Integrated Veteran Care Programs.

What You'll Do

  • Current IEN employees selecting location negotiable Duties: Coordinates efforts to develop and implement program performance measures based on emerging priorities; new or revised legislation; process changes or improvements; innovation or discontinuous change; and organizational decisions.
  • Provides governance and operations oversight for enterprise-wide healthcare payment and medical claim integrity operations, including development, implementation, and maintenance of payment guidelines, billing guidelines, procedures, and related operational guidance.
  • Plans, organizes, and completes program segment plans, operational analyses, data collection, and legislative responses.
  • Oversees healthcare payment and medical claim integrity control activities to strengthen reimbursement accuracy, prevent improper payments, identify noncompliance or unsatisfactory trends, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of enterprise-wide payment operations.
  • Conducts market research, management surveys, research projects, and advisory services on issues of substantial scope and impact throughout the organization.
  • Plans, schedules, and carries out major projects, internal reviews, and program evaluations to assess, improve, and ensure compliance of programs and operations with national impact.
  • Collaborates with clinical, policy, financial, operational, contractor, and other internal and external stakeholders to assess program needs, align clinical policies with payment guidelines, resolve reimbursement gaps, and strengthen healthcare payment integrity across community care programs.
  • Works with Program Office external stakeholders/organizations, including contractors, private-sector health care providers, and trade organizations, to assess needs and provide project goals, objectives, and guidelines.
  • Administratively manages quality, resource, financial, training, and performance evaluation activities in accordance with applicable policies, principles, and operational priorities that support health care administration strategic goals and objectives.
  • Creates, facilitates, prioritizes, and negotiates resolution of operational issues with VHA leaders and private-sector health care providers/networks.
