About the Role
This vacancy is for a GS-0340-14, Program Manager located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, MAJOR SYSTEMS ACQUISITION ASSISTANT PEO SURFACE -CG-932 (CG-SEA) in WASHINGTON, District of Columbia.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a/an Program Manager and be responsible for the planning, organization, execution, and coordination of assigned acquisition program(s), in accordance with approved charters and applicable policies and procedures.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Developing, managing, and documenting short and long-range, acquisition planning activities that include multi-year work plans.
- →Coordinating meetings with internal staff and representatives from staff agencies and industry to determine program status, major milestones, and coordination of each to detect in advance potential slippage or increased costs; and to ascertain appropriate action required to maintain or improve program schedules.
- →Providing analysis and development of appropriate cost-sharing mechanisms, full cost methodologies, and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) data; and develops procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative control systems, such as those designed to prevent waste, loss, unauthorized use, or misappropriation of assets.
- →Evaluating and analyzing statistics to ascertain overall staffing needs and to forecast future needs in conjunction with other acquisition managers and Directorate staff elements.
