The Supervisory Program Manager will direct the work of subordinate employees for more than one program supporting external services customers within the Product Services Group which will include a mix of routine and complex projects/programs. The work of the organization directly impacts the operational availability of the National Airspace System, and systems and infrastructure of other customers of the Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center.
What You'll Do
- →Plan and communicate the organization's vision and objectives; set priorities; assign tasks and responsibilities; monitor and evaluate performance; coach and develop employee capabilities; approve leave; and take, recommend, or approve corrective/ disciplinary actions as appropriate.
- →Define, plan, and organize assigned budget, staff, and other resources to accomplish organizational objectives.
- →Manage budget and performs critical aspects of the budget planning process, including projecting short-term and long-term future needs and justifying resource requirements.
- →Apply advanced knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed, an advanced knowledge of budget, human resource management, and other administrative policies and procedures, and an advanced understanding of the objectives of the group.
- →Contacts are primarily within the organizational unit and with higher level managers to discuss the status of projects/programs and to plan for the future.
- →Will have frequent contact with customers, other government entities, and other external parties to interpret policies/ procedures or for other project/program purposes.
- →Has authority to make commitments for the Product Services Group within guidelines.
- →Work is typically governed by established policies, procedures, and organizational objectives that frequently leave room for discretion.
- →Resolves all but unique problems without the intervention of higher-level management.
- →Regularly called upon to identify problem areas and to develop and recommend new policies and procedures for resolution.
- →Will communicate and reinforce EEO Program policies and programs in all areas of responsibility, including selection, training and promotion opportunities.
- →Fosters a work environment where all employees are treated in a fair and equitable manner.
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
