About the Role
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters, Program Management Operations Directorate in Washington, D.C. What You'll Do
- →In this position, you will serve as a Program Manager (Director) for major U.S.
- →Border Patrol acquisitions in the Program Management Office Directorate, leading planning, execution, and oversight of complex, nationwide investment programs.
- →The position directly impacts CBP's mission by ensuring critical acquisition programs are effectively managed to deliver operational capabilities that support border security and related national security objectives.
- →This position starts at a salary of $169,279.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $197,200.00 (GS-15, Step 10).
- →As a Program Manager (Director), you will be responsible for leading and overseeing complex acquisition and program management activities- including planning, budgeting, technical and contractual oversight, supervision of staff, and coordination with senior stakeholders- to deliver mission-critical capabilities in support of the U.S.
- →Border Patrol mission.
- →Typical duties will include: Overseeing and providing guidance to staff in planning, developing, and implementing complex acquisition and program management activities, including organizing work, setting performance expectations, and preparing program status reports and briefings for senior DHS/CBP stakeholders.
- →Planning, organizing, and directing teams' efforts and monitoring progress to ensure that realistic objectives and milestones are established and mission requirements are accomplished in a timely manner.
- →Managing programs and projects to ensure delivery of required capabilities to USBP while remaining within funding, cost, schedule, scope, risk and quality constraints.
- →Serving as the program advocate throughout the planning, programming, budgeting process.
- →Directing a wide variety of comprehensive studies and detailed analyses of complex functions and processes related to the long-range acquisition plan with subordinates, contractors and other major asset acquisition program managers.
