The Program Assistant for the Business Administration Service (BAS) at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS) provides a high level of administrative and data support to BAS as well as the VASNHS. The primary function of this position is to provide leadership in the management of data validation. The incumbent(s) are responsible for coordinating and supporting mechanisms for successful data capture and maximizing data management efforts.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Serve as advisor and expert to the Program Application Specialist, BAS, and support the management information components of all Informatics Programs.
- →Assist staff and analyze workload trends, projections for inpatient and outpatient activities.
- →Reviews, verifies, and analyzes data submitted for consistency with financial and program objectives, and adherence to VA directives.
- →Responsibilities include management analyst, training, and organizational development.
- →Assists with and develops a uniform data validation and appraisal system of all data elements for the Business Administration Service.
- →Coordinates special studies of existing activities, which present problems of special concern.
- →Coordinates the collection of data concerning patient care activities, makes computations as required and reports, monthly, quarterly, and/or annually to management.
- →Establish and maintains clinic profiles, once approved by Service Chiefs or designee, and works closely with all VASHNS staff from services as well as DSS staff.
- →Cross-train with other sections within BAS and service as backup as needed.
- →Audit the Incomplete Encounter Error Management as well as the Encounter Action Required Programs and assures that the Business Administration Service is in compliance with requirements of getting these completed in a timely manner and in accordance with national closeout deadlines.
- →Involved in an extremely complex blend of computing technology, medical information, communication skills, and leadership qualities in a rapidly changing environment.
- →Responsible for the Master Patient Index (MPI) and works closely with the BAS Program Application Specialist (PAS) as well as the National Data Team to assure we process and make any corrections as applicable.
- →Responsible for patient vesting and will assure appropriate monitoring and reporting is accomplished within established time frames.
- →Prepare morning reports and work with other assigned to provide information to those reports to ensure accuracy of information provided.
