About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Identifies emergency situations, reports, and initiates effective actions immediately.
- →Identifies significant changes in the patient's physical and mental status.
- →Complies with BVAMC Primary Care, Nursing, and other applicable policy/procedures on administering medications.
- →Utilizes concepts and the guidelines of sterile technique.
- →Utilizes nursing care procedures when providing patient care.
- →Observes IV solutions and patency of IV tubing.
- →Meets the patients' needs for privacy.
- →Identifies patients who require instruction about their care, or who need questions answered.
- →Maintains personal safety.
- →Routinely completed required clinical reminders, vital signs, weight and height during check-in process.
- →Reports accurate data to the team leader/charge nurse.
- →Records all medications and procedures provided and records patient responses to these interventions.
- →Complies with medical center policy on patient rights.
- →Maintains a clean and safe environment and reports all hazards immediately.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
