About the Role
The GS-7 LPN/LVN can serve as a responsible member of the Specialty Medicine department and are responsible for goals and interventions that promote veterans in attaining maximum functional potential. S/he possesses the knowledge and skills to carry out more specialized patient care activities. This knowledge base includes the use of Veteran care data to initiate active contributions to the Veteran's overall health plan.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The LPN/LVN GS-7 is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice.
- →Possesses the knowledge and skills to carry out more specialized patient care activities.
- →This knowledge base includes the use of Veteran care data to initiate active contributions to the Veteran's overall health plan.
- →Knowledgeable of program regulations and performs objectives of the nursing program.
- →Promotes and demonstrates nursing concepts in the Medical Center.
- →Works in collaboration with the Registered Nurse (RN), and or Health Care Provider (HCP).
- →Functions or Scope of Assigned Duties but not limited to: Works in collaboration with the Registered Nurse (RN), and or Health Care Provider (HCP).
- →Completes FENO (Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide) testing, PFT (Pulmonary Function Tests), and ESS (Epworth Sleepiness Scale) questionnaires when ordered by the provider.
- →Assists the providers with thyroid biopsies, including actively participating in the time out process, while also ensuring proper specimen collection, labeling, and transportation.
- →Maintains the knowledge to download continuous glucose monitor data, perform glucometer control tests daily, and perform glucometer testing on patients.
- →Completes equipment setup for Rheumatology procedures.
- →Meets the needs of all customers while supporting the Medical Center and Service missions.
- →Consistently communicates and treats customers (patients, visitors, volunteers, and all Medical Center staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
- →Provides the customers with consistent information according to established policies and procedures.
