About the Position: This position is located at Naval Health Clinic Charleston. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Incentives may be available for highly qualified applicants. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Provide practical nursing care to patients in the outpatient clinic with a variety of medical conditions, performing tasks such as recording vital signs, ordering labs, tracking laboratory/radiology orders, referral results, and making appointments.
- →Initiates and maintains medical histories on patients, records observations, and identifies symptoms for use by the clinician.
- →Administers prescribed medications with increased independence, ensuring proper patient dosages, routes, and times are followed.
- →Prepares and delivers oral, topical, and injectable forms while monitoring for and responding to side effects or adverse reactions.
- →Assists in performing and managing medical procedures, physical examinations, and treatments.
- →Utilizes electronic health record and information technology as effective communication and management tools to facilitate the patient experience and coordination.
- →Provides patient and family education tailored to specific medical conditions, treatment plans, and recovery goals.
