About the Position: The Practical Nurse (Inpatient) provides support to the A. T. Augusta Military Medical Center in Fort Belvoir VA, helping ensure consistent, high-quality patient care and facility operations. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Recording vital signs, monitoring patient conditions, and reporting significant findings to the supervising nurse or physician Assist patients with mobility, hygiene, and nutritional needs to promote comfort and recovery.
- →Maintains Communicate with patients and families to ensure they are informed about care plans and progress.
- →Administer prescribed medications ensuring proper patient dosages, routes, and times are followed.
- →Prepare and delivers oral, topical, and injectable medications while monitoring for and responding to side effects or adverse reactions.
- →Assist in performing and managing medical procedures, such as wound care, catheterizations, and respiratory therapies, under the guidance of a registered nurse or licensed medical practitioner.
- →Provide patient and family education tailored to specific medical conditions, treatment plans, and recovery goals
