This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. What You'll Do
- →The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) that installs, inspects, troubleshoots, tests, repairs, modifies, overhauls, services, and dispatches powered and non-powered aerospace ground support equipment and to to train reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein. 1.
- →Inspects, troubleshoots, calibrates, installs, tests, repairs, removes, aligns, modifies, overhauls and performs major maintenance on complex powered and non-powered aerospace ground support systems and integrated sub-systems to include Nuclear Certified Equipment (NCE).
- →Major maintenance associated with, but not limited to, diesel/gasoline engines, gas turbine compressors, electric motors, air compressors, hydraulic pumps, maintenance stands, aircraft jacks, tow bars, bomb lifts, trailers, generators, pneumatic/HVAC/cryogenic systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- →Analyzes and interprets technical orders, blueprints, wiring schematics, technical manuals, and manufacturer's manuals. 2.
- →Performs periodic/scheduled, service, special inspections, TCTO's, OTI's and preventive maintenance on complex powered and non-powered aerospace ground support systems and integrated sub-systems to include Nuclear Certified Equipment (NCE).
- →Inspects equipment fluid levels to include, but not limited to, fuel, lubricants, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, coolant, and battery water.
- →Verifies pumps, batteries, fan/drive belts, spark plugs, steering, wheels, castors, tires, diesel/gasoline engine and gas turbine compressor for performance and/or service ability.
- →Validates electric motor, air compressors, hydraulic pumps, generators, pneumatic/HVAC/cryogenic systems and system gauges for proper operation/service ability. 3.
- →Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, aligns, calibrates, and performs functional and final testing of integrated electronic systems, components, or subassemblies.
- →Sets up and operates software controlled automated test equipment to run established programs in various test modes to test/troubleshoot integrated systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
- →Maintains analog and digital circuits as well as Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) controls within complex aerospace ground support equipment.
- →Operates keypad interface boards and resistive touch screens, including 800WP8 super video graphics array, light emitting diode, color graphics thin film transistor-liquid crystal display to perform AC/DC test loads.
- →Traces the effect of a change in once subsystem to other subsystems and determines which controls and devices must be changed or adjusted to compensate. 4.
- →Reviews, verifies and documents equipment/component forms/tags and Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) to reflect maintenance actions performed for on and off equipment to include initiating Nuclear Certified Equipment (NCE) reports, i.e.; DULL SWORD Actions.
