About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Shift Operator is the operator-in-charge during an assigned shift at a single operator multiple purpose power project. During other than day shifts and on weekends and holidays, is the senior employee at the project, and serves as the Project Manager's representative.
What You'll Do
- →Performs or oversees and coordinates the operation activities at the project.
- →Controls the power output of generating units together with their associated transformer banks, switchgear, and auxiliary equipment.
- →Maintains continuous communication with the supervisory control operator at the control project for exchange of information on power generation, water control, and critical project auxiliaries.
- →Maintains contact with waterways traffic and operates the navigation lock facilities.
- →Performs project equipment inspections in accordance with established frequencies or in the order of priority.
