About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Performs as a journey level Power Plant Mechanic WB-5352-00 (TC-I) performing a combination of shop, plant and outside work at a hydroelectric power project.
What You'll Do
- →Performs maintenance on general powerhouse mechanical equipment.
- →Conducts periodic and unscheduled maintenance and/or repair on equipment common to hydroelectric facilities such as turbines, generators, governors, spillway and intake hoist equipment, pneumatic devices, HVAC equipment.
- →Performs machine work including shaping, turning, boring, grinding, milling, layout and assembly of finished pieces into a final product.
- →Performs various types of welding (oxygen-acetylene, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding); cutting (oxygen-acetylene, oxygen-propane, carbon arc, plasma); brazing and soldering operations.
- →Performs other support duties such as installing and repairing piping systems.
