About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at Lower Granite Project, operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers and situated on the Snake River, 32-river miles downstream from Clarkston, Washington. This Project provides hydroelectric generation, navigation, fish passage and recreation.
What You'll Do
- →Supervise the work of a crew performing routine mechanical maintenance and overhauls on equipment and other apparatus and auxiliaries for a multi-purpose project.
- →Equipment includes generators, transformers, turbines, motors, pumps, hydraulic gates, diesel engines, mobile cranes, bridge cranes, heating and ventilating equipment, air compressors, governors, hydraulic systems, and hoists.
- →Establish periodic maintenance and inspection schedules based on maintenance orders assigned.
- →Assign work, and adjusts assignments according to workload, changing deadlines, and priorities.
- →Executes supervisory duties required to follow and complete predetermined plans, in terms of personnel and material requirements.
- →Explain work requirements, methods, techniques and procedures as needed; defines the standards of quality and quantity to be met, provides additional instruction on difficult work operations.
