This vacancy is for a GS - 2150 - 12, Port Operations Coordinator located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OFFICE OF NAVAL ENGINEERING in Baltimore, MD.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a Port Operations Coordinator and be responsible for providing support for the shipyard's waterfront operations.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Works with commercial tug boat operators to maneuver or tow vessels into port through bridge passes to wharfs and into drydock.
- →Pilots Coast Guard crewed vessels from Chesapeake Bay into Curtis creek to moor at piers, wharfs or guide into drydock.
- →Participates in contingency planning and execution for adverse weather or high-water events.
- →Responds to logistics support requests made by arriving vessels.
- →Keeps Production Manager appraised of visiting Coast Guard Cutters or other government vessels This position requires the following licenses prior to appointment. - USCG License - Master of Self-Propelled Vessels less than 1600 GRT - USCG License - Master of Towing Vessels Upon Coastal or Inland Waters
