About the Position: This position is located in Brussels, Belgium, in the heart of Europe. The surrounding area is a large city within 30 minutes drive from other cities. The base is in central Belgium with the Netherlands, Luxemburg, France, and Germany within a day's drive; the United Kingdom is also easily accessible via ferry or chunnel. It is small but offers most amenities provided by larger installations.
What You'll Do
- →Coordinate and integrate Joint Staff and Combatant Command perspectives into NATO deliberations to align Alliance directives with U.S. global force posture and deterrence plans.
- →Serve as a principal subject matter expert, preparing decision-support products, strategic briefs, and policy recommendations for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the U.S.
- →Military Representative to NATO.
- →Synthesize complex defense, diplomatic, and military inputs across the Office of the Defense Advisor (ODA) and the U.S.
- →Mission to NATO (USNATO) to establish unified U.S. policy positions.
- →Serve as a primary U.S. representative to NATO Headquarters, negotiating directly with flag officers and ambassadorial-level counterparts from 32 Alliance and partner nations to secure U.S. equities Manage and synchronize U.S. inputs across approximately 500 active NATO political-military projects and workstreams.
- →Plan, resource, and track delegation task execution to ensure team outputs rapidly align with emerging Alliance crises and capability requirements.
