As a Policy Analyst, you will serve as a principal subject matter expert responsible for formulating and implementing citizenship and immigration policies within the Office of Policy and Strategy.
What You'll Do
- →The responsibilities described are for the full performance level.
- →At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
- →Develops and drafts new employment-based immigration policies and regulations based on available data and internal and external input to ensure effective coordination and integration with USCIS goals and objectives.
- →Serves as a spokesperson for the office and agency with interested internal and external stakeholders on various employment-based immigration programs, policies, and positions.
- →Leads inter- and intra-agency working groups on a range of employment-based immigration issues and provides recommendations to achieve agency policy objectives.
- →Develops and delivers oral and written briefings, talking points, and other publications for supervisors and senior leadership to address complex immigration issues that may impact USCIS and DHS senior level leadership decisions.
- →Conducts research and balanced assessment on employment-based immigration policies, statutes, directives, and regulations to support the development of policy guidance.
- →Analyzes and devises solutions to resolve and mitigate risks and benefits and various immigration policy proposals.
Requirements
- ✓Conditions of Employment: You must be a U.S.
- ✓Citizen or U.S.
- ✓Residency Requirement: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by U.S.
- ✓Citizenship and Immigration Services.
- ✓This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S.
- ✓Federal or Military employee serving overseas.
- ✓EDUCATIONAL SUBSTITUTION: There is no educational substitution at this grade level..
