About the Role
You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER in the FORCE PROTECTION (N3AT), OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (N3) of NAF EL CENTRO SEC DET. SALARY RANGES: GS03: $37,813 - $49,162 GS04: $42,446 - $55,183
What You'll Do
- →Respond to and investigate complaints while interpreting and enforcing state and federal laws, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), DoD and Navy regulations, and installation directives, rules and regulations.
- →You will possess authority to apprehend personnel, both combative and non-combative members of the public.
- →You will perform traffic law enforcement using specialized equipment such as radar, breathalyzer, and must be qualified/certified in these specialized areas and on the necessary equipment.
- →You will use computer equipment and specialized web-based law enforcement programs to fuse intelligence and establish, update, query or print individual or vehicle registration and other law enforcement sensitive information.
- →You will operate motor vehicles having gross vehicle weights of 7,000 pounds or less, loading capacities of 1 ton or less, manual transmissions, and 2 or 4-wheel drive in support of operations and to transport personnel and materials.
- →You will detect and investigate unusual situations/conditions; takes required action to resolve various incidents/situations and requests additional support, if necessary.
- →You will perform a full range of force protection, anti-terrorism and sentry duties at installations or activities with significant operational assets, unrestricted access points, large populations onboard and around the installation/activity.
Requirements
- ✓GS-03: Successful completion of one year of study at an accredited school above the high school level with at least 6 semester hours of study pertinent to police work.
- ✓OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
- ✓The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
- ✓Successful completion of a Federal, State, county, or municipal police academy or comparable training course that included at least 40 classroom hours of instruction in police department procedures and methods, and local law and regulations, may be substituted for a maximum of 3 months of specialized experience or 6 months of general experience.
