About the Role
The Podiatry Section Staff Surgeon reports to the Chief of Podiatry, Surgical Services. A staff podiatrist routinely performs outpatient and inpatient pediatric examinations, determines diagnosis, and initiates treatments based on pediatric education and standards of care. The incumbent practices in the Podiatric Surgery Section of Surgical Service at the Cart T. Hayden VA Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
What You'll Do
- →VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Diagnose and treat medical and surgical disorders using the most appropriate techniques in providing quality care.
- →Responsible for initial evaluation and overall workup, history and physicals, and admission of pediatric patients as needed.
- →Clinical duties include but are not limited to Operating Room (experience in wide variety of standard pediatric surgical procedures and operations), in-patient rounds, Emergency Room and Outpatient Clinics.
- →Must able to perform a wide variety of pediatric surgical procedures.
- →Participate in podiatry night call and perform emergency podiatric surgical procedures.
- →Provide patients with education concerning their disease state and treatment regimen.
- →Serve as a consultant to other medical center staff and trainees.
- →Train/supervise medical/podiatry students, and podiatry residents.
- →Complete all electronic, clinical, daily charting and documentation required by the Medical Center in a timely manner as appropriate, including outcomes reporting as appropriate.
- →Maintain clinical privileges as a member of the Medical Staff.
- →Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
