About the Role

You will serve as a Planning & Environmental Coordinator with Bureau of Land Management . First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate. One position will either be filled in Needles, CA; Palm Springs, CA or Ridgecrest, CA. One position will be filled at each location (Boise, ID; Elko, NV and Winnemucca, NV).

What You'll Do

  • Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Analyzes and provides guidance for field office planning and environmental processes, documents and supporting records for compliance with BLM planning and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) procedural.
  • Coordinates and provides planning and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) program oversight to interdisciplinary teams in the implementation of land use plans, implementation level plans, and project specific plans.
  • Develops and conducts field office training programs for all aspects of BLM's planning system and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) processes.
  • Participates in and/or assumes project lead for statewide, interstate, and regional planning and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects.

  • Under applicable law, the employment of an individual serving a probationary or trial period automatically terminates when that period ends unless the agency affirmatively certifies, in writing, that the individual's employment should continue and that their appointment should be finalized.
  • In the absence of agency action to affirmatively certify continued employment beyond the probationary or trial period, such appointments are terminated.
  • Upon completion of your probationary or trial period your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
