This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Industrial Department, Mechanical Group, Pipe Shop in Baltimore, MD.
What You'll Do
- →Being a civilian working for the Coast Guard makes you a valuable member of the team.
- →Typical duties include: Performing routine and common tasks following clear-cut instructions such as work orders, blueprints, bills of materials, and sketches.
- →Laying out routine projects, taking measurements, and making templates, jigs and fixtures.
- →Performing routine pipefitting tasks such as fabricating, installing, modifying, repairing and testing of piping and tubing made from iron, steel, brass, metal, copper, copper-nickel, stainless steel, and plastic.
- →Using a variety of equipment and tools such as power hacksaws, power band saws, hydraulic pipe benders, grinding and drilling machines, pipe threading machines, test pumps, etc.
- →Mandatory training is required which must be successfully completed and other training may occur as necessary for success in the position.
