About the Role

In this role, you will support mission critical avionics by selecting, analyzing, qualifying, and troubleshooting Electrical, Electronic, and Electromagnetic (EEE) parts to meet NASA reliability, radiation, derating, and environmental requirements. You will provide detailed technical guidance, evaluate test and screening data, mitigate obsolescence and supply chain risks, and collaborate across programs to ensure compliant, robust, and flight ready hardware performance.

What You'll Do

  • Develop Electrical, Electronic, and Electromagnetic (EEE) part management and control plans, qualification plans, project specific screening requirements, and Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPAR).
  • Evaluate EEE parts non-standard parts approval requests, waivers, deviations, and analyses.
  • Specify and perform screening/testing requirements.
  • Screen EEE parts types to assure a reliable supply of parts.
  • Evaluate EEE parts lists for compliance with requirements including project specific hardware criticality and environments (parts list to include as-designed and as-built parts lists).
  • Review military and industry EEE parts specifications, standards, and studies for application to NASA Projects and Programs.
  • Perform parts obsolescence analyses, recommend replacement parts, proactively manage obsolescence and End of Life challenges.
  • Troubleshoot parts failures.
  • Provide failure analysis and testing of EEE parts to determine failure mechanisms, probable causes and root causes.
  • Provide insight and evaluation on parts screening and parts failure analysis performed by outside sources

Requirements

  • If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.
  • Degrees in engineering technology are not considered qualifying for this position.
