About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. - →Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay).
- →This physician supervises assigned Urology staff, ensures delivery of comprehensive inpatient and ambulatory urologic care, and coordinates all urology consultations across the medical center.
- →Responsibilities include direct patient care, participation in rounds and conferences, peer review activities, clinical performance monitoring, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- →The Section Chief recruits and mentors physicians, oversees resident education, and may supervise additional clinical providers.
- →The role also includes representing the Urology Section on key committees, supporting research activities, and managing long-range planning, organizational needs, and budget development.
- →The Section Chief is accountable for maintaining required licensure, privileges, and certifications, and for monitoring those of subordinate staff.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
