About the Role

What You'll Do

- →Duties and responsibilities included but are not limited to: Responsibilities include being able to admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat (surgically or medically) and provide consultation for\ illnesses and injuries of the reproductive and genitourinary system and their contiguous structures.
- →Responsible for providing the patient with risks, benefits and alternative treatments and securing the informed consent of the patient/family needed before conducting invasive procedures.
- →Evaluates the patient to assess any changes in the physical status, lab values and vital signs of the patient prior to surgery.
- →Appropriate notes are written in the patient's medical records, times, dates, and signed.
- →Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations and pre-operative patient and Operating Room evaluations.
- →Participates in various hospital committees, department and hospital in-service programs and acquire CME's as required.
- →Work effectively with patients, families, co-workers, and other health care professionals treating them with respect and dignity.
- →Familiar with and adheres to the Medical Staff Bylaws of this facility.
- →Complies with information security policy and procedures.
- →The Urologists provide patient care which is appropriate to the cognitive, emotional, and chronological maturation needs of the adult and/or geriatric patient.
- →The Urologist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
