What You'll Do
- →Serves as the Telepsychiatry coordinator u nder the direction and supervision of the Chief Psychiatrist, Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).
- →Primary duty of this position is to lead, direct, supervise, coordinate, participate in and oversee the functioning and growth of the telepsychiatric services within the BOP.
- →Responsible for providing supervision, orientation, and training to all stand-alone Psychiatrists (telepsychiatrists) at non-medical center locations, and coordinating the workload and psychiatric support efforts between telepsychiatrists and their assigned institutions.
- →This involves professional management of the institutional telepsychiatrist position as well as the clinical competence of the providers.
- →Provides clinical and administrative oversight as needed to field telepsychiatrists and mainline staff.
- →Elucidation of the key issues and potential solutions are necessary to ensure responsible practices of telepsyc11iatry services throughout Bureau facilities.
- →Serves in an advisory or consultation relationship to other health care professionals performing evaluations in the assigned mainline institutions.
- →Coordinates and ensures quality patient care in accordance with administrative policies of the BOP, American Correctional Association (ACA), JC, and other regulatory agencies.
