About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount up to $200,000 & eligibility period one to five years are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do

- →The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be September 16, 2026, with subsequent cut-off dates every 2 weeks.

- →Select and administer pre-anesthetic medication according to established protocol, type of surgical procedure, and health of the patient.
- →Request and evaluate pertinent laboratory studies, pulmonary function studies, including blood gases, respiratory therapy, and other appropriate studies under established protocol.
- →Insert intravenous catheters, according to established protocol.
- →Insert Swan-Ganz catheters and central venous pressure catheters.
- →Insert arterial catheters; perform arterial puncture for blood gases.
- →Utilize all current techniques in monitoring.
- →Perform endotracheal intubation and extubation.
- →Select and administer anesthetic techniques (intravenous, regional, various field blocks, or inhalational), medications and adjunct drugs appropriate to the individual patient's condition and procedure (surgical or non-surgical) within established protocols in the operating suite and any off-site location (i.e..
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.

- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
