About the Role
Physician for the Phoenix Indian Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ, who will provide full-scope, independent rheumatology care to adult and adolescent patients, and serving as a clinical authority and consultant for complex autoimmune, muscoskeletal, and connective tissue disease cases. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
What You'll Do
- →Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Physician Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Conducts comprehensive patient evaluations, including complete history and physical examination, review of prior medical records, and formulation of differential diagnoses.
- →Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies, laboratory panels, and imaging relevant to rheumatologic conditions, integrating findings into a definitive treatment plan.
- →Performs indicated procedures, including joint and soft tissue injections, aspirations, and other privileged interventional techniques within the scope of rheumatology practice.
- →Serves as the primary rheumatology consultant for Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC) medical staff and field hospitals and health centers throughout the Phoenix Area Indian Health Service (IHS).
- →Participates in teaching activities for medical staff, nurse practitioners, clinical pharmacists, and other physician extenders across relevant specialty areas.
- →Performs medically related or patient care assignments that fall outside the designated rheumatology specialty area when directed by clinical leadership on an emergency or contingency basis.
- →The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements.
- →If privileges are not obtained or maintained during employment, the employee will be subject to adverse actions, up to and including removal from Federal service.
- →On-call hours or standby duty may be required.
Requirements
