About the Role
The Ann Arbor VA Healthcare System is seeking a Full-time Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist in the Anesthesiology Perioperative and Pain Medicine Service with specific duties to provide care to those in the operating room. This position is necessary to provide specialized clinical Anesthesiology services for surgical patients and those undergoing other diagnostic and therapeutic non-operative procedures.

- →The Ann Arbor VA Healthcare System provides cutting-edge surgical and procedural care to veterans ranging from common outpatient procedures to complex cardiovascular, thoracic, general surgical, ENT, urologic, orthopedic, plastic and reconstructive, vascular, and gynecologic surgery.
- →The position requires training/experience in the management of acute perioperative pain; training/experience managing difficult airways utilizing advanced airway management techniques; experience supervising/teaching residents, fellows and medical students; and training/credentials sufficient to support eligibility for an academic appointment with the University of Michigan.

- →Physician meets continuing medical education requirements, participates in activities to improve anesthesia-related outcomes and efficiencies including regular participation in morbidity and mortality conferences, staff meetings, and resident mock oral examinations.
- →Duties include the provision of clinical anesthesia services in directing/supervising CRNAs or residents in an Anesthesia Care Team Model Workweek is Monday through Friday with evening, night, weekend and holiday call shared equally with staff anesthesiologists.

Requirements
