What You'll Do
- →The Radiation Oncologist at the Orlando VA Healthcare System is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients requiring radiotherapy.
- →The duties include, but are not limited to: Conducting medical histories, physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning.
- →Ability to comprehensively assess patients presenting with cancer and related diseases.
- →Providing advanced radiation therapy to patients, including planning and delivery of radiation treatment.
- →Ability to make informed decisions regarding patient care and develop individualized treatment plans.
- →Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- →Participating in the call rotation with other radiation oncologists.
- →Utilizing tele-medicine services to provide care to patients at Community Based Outpatient Clinics.
- →Advising and counseling patients and their families regarding the implications of treatment, potential side effects, and prognosis.
- →Ordering and interpreting appropriate imaging studies and laboratory tests to guide treatment.
- →Providing ongoing outpatient and inpatient care for a diverse patient population.
- →Prescribing and managing medications related to cancer treatment within the defined scope of practice.
- →Offering education and support to patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
