About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy & submit your EDRP application within 4 months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

- →Start, continue, or finish your career here | VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System(youtube.com) DUTIES- Incumbent will work as an independent physician provider in the Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Section within the Medicine Service line.
- →They will provide medical care in the spectrum of their field of board eligible/board certified expertise in all aspects of patient care including inpatient/outpatient care.
- →The incumbent will be a member of Pulmonary/Critical Care Section/Medical Service and will participate in patient care, teaching, research, quality improvement, and administrative activities of the Division, as assigned.
- →(2) The Physician will triage and evaluate consultations for inpatient and outpatient pulmonary, critical care, and sleep subspecialty.
- →(3) They will obtain medical histories, conduct physical examinations, order, and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing, and plan and prescribe treatment for patients.
- →(4) The incumbent will coordinate medical management and care within their discipline with Primary Care providers and other Medical/Surgical services and personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system.
- →(5) Provide on-call services for the section as assigned.
- →Shares after hour call responsibilities with section physicians in rotation (6) Participate in monitoring the quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care, both at the Section and facility level.
- →(9) Regular attendance of required team meetings' (10) Qualified/eligible to receive a University of Colorado - Anschutz faculty appointment in the Department of Medicine in order to work with trainees (11) Demonstrate ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model to others at all levels of the organization.
- →(12) Complete medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
