About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →**This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2026.
- →The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be September 8, 2026 with subsequent cut-off dates every 2 weeks.

- →In addition, provider can perform routine women's health (pelvic exam, breast exam, cytologic pap smear testing, cervical HPV testing), laceration repair, foreign body removal, abscess incision and drainage, and wound debridement.
- →He/she can care for patients via telemedicine, perform preliminary interpretation of ECG and radiographic studies, and supervise residents, fellows, and others in training.
- →Additional Professional Opportunities for qualified applicants: A portion of the position may be assigned to the Obesity Medicine Clinic for clinicians who meet service needs and relevant qualifications and based on the needs of the Obesity and Primary care clinics.
- →Duties in this area include evaluation and management of patients with obesity and related metabolic conditions, close collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, and adherence to evidence based clinic protocols and treatment pathways.
- →The position may also include dedicated time serving as a Stanford Medical Resident preceptor in the resident primary care continuity clinic, offering clinical supervision, teaching, and mentorship to resident physicians in the ambulatory care setting.
- →Assignment of precepting time is dependent on experience, clinic needs, and alignment with program requirements.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical evaluation.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
