About the Role
The NWMetro Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) has an opening for a Full-Time Staff Physician. 13 CBOCs within the Minneapolis VA Health Care System provide care to Veterans near their home town and serve over 47,000 Veterans throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.
What You'll Do
- →Seeking a Family Practice or Internal Medicine trained primary care provider is sought for a VA clinic in Ramsey, Minnesota part of the Minneapolis, MN VA health care system.
- →Our facilities include an updated fully-equipped medical clinic with a lab, x- ray and telemedicine capabilities.
- →Our physicians serve the primary care health needs of Rochester and rural areas using a team approach with nursing and onsite clinical pharmacist.
- →Mental Health services within the clinic help to provide comprehensive care to the Veterans served in this VA Community Clinic.
- →Take time with your patients.
- →Visits for established patients are 30 minutes and for new patients 60 minutes VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.

- →An assigned panel of patients is determined by the VHA PCMM software package which is specific to their practice and setting.
- →Focus on care include the chronic disease initiative areas of CHF, COPD and DM, mental health collaboration in the PC setting, MOVE program focusing on weight loss, diet and activity as well as health promotion/disease management.
- →Work Schedule: The tour of duty for this position is typically 8:00am-4:30pm.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
