About the Position: This position is located at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego - Branch Medical Clinic. Recruitment, Advanced in Hire and Leave Accrual may be considered This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Works in an outpatient clinic to provide a wide range of medical duties, including Primary Care, non-operative Orthopedic Care, and Sports Medicine.
- →Perform emergency services or crisis intervention, including life-saving emergency procedures when necessary.
- →Serve as member of the professional medical staff and/ or faculty to provide advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences, and/ or boards.
- →Develop medical policy, guidance, and standard of care determinations within the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
- →Attend and or participate in health care conferences as requested.
- →Independently formulate full treatment plans based on sound evaluation and diagnoses consistent with current and/ or evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
- →Provide ambulatory care by documenting patient histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies.
- →Prescribe medications, perform patient education, demonstrate modalities, and document results of activities in the electronic medical record.
- →Oversees evaluation and coordination of musculoskeletal injuries, illnesses, and rehabilitation protocols by collaboration with athletic trainers, orthopedics, supporting sub-specialties, and entry level training service members.
- →Refers patients to other specialty clinics for evaluation and/or treatment when the issues or ailments are beyond the scope of this position.
- →Serves as adjunct faculty for the Graduate Medical Education Programs at a large MTF, including Primary Care residents, medical students, Physician Assistants (PA), and medical military service member students.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.
