About the Role
The VISN Clinical Resource Hub Primary Care Physician will provide direct patient care full time and work as a member of an expanded healthcare team to oversee and coordinate medical care for a population of Veterans in a group practice setting utilizing the Patient Aligned Care Team model. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of a VA facility. Internet speed tests may be requested to verify/determine suitability for remote work for candidates in consideration under this announcement.

- →This aligns with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Mission Statement to Honor America's Veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being This Primary Care Physician position is under the general supervision of the VISN CRH Primary Care Section Chief.
- →Primary duties are to provide primary care services to a panel of patients at one of the VISN facilities through a combination of virtually and in-person as part of an interprofessional primary care team in the VHA Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model.
- →The incumbent works as part of a virtual and in-person primary care team, together with patient site care team members, to provide primary care to Veterans.
- →Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT) is the primary modality for treatment, though this position may require occasional travel to VISN medical centers or Community Based Outreach Clinics (CBOC).
- →Major Duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Provides comprehensive care for Veterans for a panel size of approximately 900 patients or serve walk-ins.
- →Perform initial histories and physical examination on outpatients using CVT technology and/or face-to-face visits.
- →Provides ongoing outpatient care for assigned patients.
- →Screens outpatients to determine the new for further care.
- →Prescribes medications within defined scope of practice.
- →Orders diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests, x-rays, electrocardiograms.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical evaluation.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
